Data processing on our website

General information
Your personal data will be processed if you have given your consent or if the processing is permitted by law. The legal basis for data processing is the performance or initiation of a contract, consent, a legal obligation or our overriding legitimate interests.

We process data that we collect during the operation of our website and our online presence.

General data processing
Data is processed for a variety of purposes. As a general rule, we only process personal data when you choose to contact us, for example, when you visit our website, communicate with us by email, purchase our goods and services, or request newsletters or other information from us. We use this information primarily to provide and develop our services and website, for communications (e.g. responding to enquiries), for customer acquisition and retention, for advertising and marketing (where you have consented or, as an existing customer, you do not object). We may also use the information, for example, to protect and enforce our legal rights and to maintain our business operations and the security of our IT infrastructure.

We process personal data that we receive from you or third parties, or that we collect ourselves. For example, you may provide us with personal information when you contact us by email or web form or inquire about our goods and services. If you register in person, make a reservation or request information or other services through our website, we will need to collect personal information from you. This includes, for example, name and contact details, as well as information about the data subject's role in the company or organisation for which you or the relevant contact person works, or on whose behalf you or they are contacting us. We also collect some personal information ourselves, for example from public registers or websites.

If you provide personal data to us through a third party (e.g. your employees or other contacts), it is up to you to inform them generally about the processing by us or other external service providers.

We process personal data within our area of responsibility in Switzerland. However, we may transfer the personal data to recipients (namely our contract processors, but also other third parties, authorities, etc.) who process the personal data in other countries, including countries that do not guarantee a level of data protection comparable to Swiss law. We will do the latter on the basis of consent or standard contractual clauses, or if it is necessary for the performance of a contract or the enforcement of legal claims.

Cookies und Tracking
We use "cookies" on our website to identify the device you are using to access our website. Cookies are small pieces of information that a website can send to your browser to better support database-driven systems. However, you can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, to automatically reject a cookie, or to store a cookie only for the duration of your visit or browser session. You can choose whether or not to accept this. If you block cookies, certain features (e.g. language selection, shopping basket, order process) may not work.

For site optimisation and statistical purposes, we collect tracking data that provides information about users' browsing behaviour. Tracking data such as that collected by Google Analytics does not allow us to identify individual users. This data cannot be used to identify individuals.

Our websites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. or Google Ireland Limited google.com. Google Analytics uses cookies that enable us to analyse your (non-personal) use of our website. Google Analytics is configured so that your IP address is truncated by Google within Europe before it is sent to the US, and any features that would allow identification through an existing Google account are disabled.

Based on our configuration of Google Analytics, we believe that the information we share with Google is not personal data to Google. However, we cannot rule out the possibility that Google may use this information for its own purposes to identify visitors, create personal profiles and link this information to the Google accounts of such visitors. If you have a Google account, you are identifiable to Google. Google will then be responsible for processing your personal data in accordance with Google's privacy policy.

You can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website and from processing this data by clicking on the following link tools.google.com and installing the browser plugin available at the following link. You can find more information on this at tools.google.com or at google.com general information on Google Analytics and data protection. The data is stored for 26 months and then automatically and irrevocably deleted.

Google Maps
Our website integrates map material from the Google Maps service provided by Google Ireland Limited. When Google Maps is used, Google processes and utilises data about the use of the map material by users. In particular, this may include IP addresses and – depending on the user's browser settings – location data. The setting of Google Maps cookies can also be rejected or authorised at any time in the cookie settings. Google may also process this data for its own purposes (e.g. for marketing and market research purposes and for the administration of its platforms), in which case it will act as the controller. Please consult Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

Social media platforms
We operate websites on social networks and other platforms operated by third parties to which we provide links on our website. Through these platforms, we receive information from you (e.g. when you communicate with us or comment on our content) and from the platforms (e.g. statistics). The platform providers may analyse your use of the platform and may process this information together with other information they hold about you. They also process this data for their own purposes (e.g. for marketing and market research purposes and to manage their platforms) and act as their own data controllers for this purpose. Please refer to the privacy policy of each platform:

Contact form
If you send us an enquiry via the contact form, we will store your details from the enquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, including your IP address, for the purposes of processing the enquiry and in the event of any follow-up queries.

Duration of storage
We only store personal data for as long as is necessary to process services and contracts, if there is a legal obligation to store and document data, if we have an overriding private or public interest in doing so, or for purely technical reasons (e.g. in the case of back-up or archiving systems). Unless there are legal or contractual obligations or technical reasons to the contrary, we will always delete or make anonymous your data at the end of the storage or processing period.

Your rights
In particular, you have the right to be informed about the personal data held about you and the purpose of the processing, the right to rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data, the right to object to the processing, the right to seek redress from a competent supervisory authority and the right to data portability/transferability. For all enquiries relating to your rights or other questions, you can contact us by e-mail at r.erni@eco-invention.ch or write to us at our postal address.

You also have the right, where applicable, to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority for your place of residence, place of work or the location of the alleged data breach. The competent data protection authority in Switzerland is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (http://www.edoeb.admin.ch).

In case of doubt, we reserve the right to ask for proof of identity.

Please note that these rights are subject to conditions and exceptions. To the extent permitted or required by law, we may refuse requests to exercise these rights. For example, we may or must retain or otherwise continue to process the personal information despite a request to delete or restrict the processing of the personal information for legal reasons as part of our legal or contractual retention obligations.

You may withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time. Please note that the cancellation will only take effect in the future. This does not affect any processing that may have taken place prior to the cancellation.

Changes
We reserve the right to unilaterally change the content of this privacy policy at any time without notice. We therefore recommend that you check our privacy policy on our website on a regular basis.
